Stockholm
Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and is famous for the central part of the town called Gamla Stan (pictures from this part are collected on a page of it's own) and for the archipelago that almost surround the city.
On our trip we loved the walks in the city but only a few days we had sun - many of these pictures are taken in rain - but it only gives the pictures a special clear colour.
The most famous part of Stockholm is Gamla Stan. And no wonder.
Walk down the narrow streets that twist around sharp corners, goes up and down - and everything is so well-preserved. It must be as it has always been. Take a seat on one of many small cafe's and try ordering something different each time - many have done something special for you to feel that you gone back in time. Almost no cars, no MacDonald's - and with people living there - it was a great experience.
When you visit Stockholm you have to take the tram to Skansen. Skansen is a large area - a littel town in the city - where you can see how the swedes lived for many years ago. There are houses from the last 100 years, there are shows of international standard and there is always something happening there.
